all the Option items are and what they do?
1. What does the "Search Mode" option I find in the
Compare dialog mean?
This option lets you mimic the search engine search mode
differently from the way they do. Instead of writing your search phrase in ""
you can just type your words and then select the Whole phrase
(logical AND) mode. If you, instead, want to consider each
word separately then you have to select the Sum occurences
(logical OR) mode. The Find space or '_' or '-' separated
keywords mode lets you check for the occurrence of words that
are separated by the specified characters while you are
searching for the whole word. An example in this case is needed
to fully understand how this option works. Suppose you were to
do a search for the word "Bulkmailer" and that the documents
returned as 1-10 in the ratings all score zero with keyword
"Bulkmailer" with other search modes. The problem is that there
is no such word in any of these rated documents. Why they are
scored so high ? The explanation is that the word "Bulkmailer"
does exist but it is disguised as in the following alternates:
"Bulk mailer" , "Bulk_mailer" or "Bulk-mailer". This search mode
allows you to find these words and solve the problem.
2. What does the Key icon in the Statistic dialog
indicate?
This icon simply indicates that this word is listed in your META
keywords tag as a keyword. If GRKda finds this word more than once
in your META keywords tag then it will indicate this as a
RED line because search engines don't like keywords listed
more than once as they consider this SPAM.
3. Can be the program be used with files that are not html?
Yes, although specifically designed
to handle HTML files, the program collects all the words in the
body text of any text file.
4. Can you tell me exactly what Keyword Density Mix the major
search engines are looking for?
No,
search engine relevancy scoring criteria change frequently.
That is one of the reasons you need this program so that you can
quickly and easily analyze the changes and adjust your pages
accordingly when necessary.
5. Can the program verify my web page positioning on the search
engines?
No, there are many well-known programs that do this. Anyway we
only trust a manual check directly done on the search engine
itself.
6. How does "Keyword Analyzer" count words?
GRKda counts words in a smart mode that cannot be found in any
other existing word statistic program. GRKda understands
HTML language and separates the words that search engines
consider in their analyses. The total word count at the top of
the Statistic page is the sum of all the words in HTML file that
are visible, i.e. are inside an HTML category. GRKda does not
take every category into account because the search engine does
this too. This is the reason why, if you enable all options and
columns, the word count at the top of the Statistic page and the
"$$ total word count $$ " (in yellow) do not match.
7. Are there different ways to select the
Menu items to work with the program?
Yes, you have two options to access the Menu:
(1) the Menu button in the Report section or (2) right click in
the Report section.
8. Can I make a record
and report of my findings?
Yes, you can select the menu option "Save Report as"
and then save your report as text or cvs (comma delimited file).
9. Can I copy to my
clipboard?
Yes, just access the Menu and then select the
"Report to clipboard" option.
10. How can I change the
dialog column lengths?
Go to the Options dialog and you will find the
"Column autosize" option. Here you can select "none" for no
automatic resize (i.e. you can manually size each column) or
alternatively you can select an option to automatically resize columns
based on header, content or both.
11. How do I learn what
all the Option items are and what they do?
Select the "Enable Tool Tips" box in the Options
dialog to enable short comment
messages when you move your cursor over an option. We suggest
that you enable this option while learning the program.
